Tutor:
I am enjoying working with my student and have seen a great improvement in his skills and self-expectations. I'm glad I decided to volunteer.

Martha: I learn new words. I understand what I read more. I understand English speaking people more.
Student:
Jasper: I like working with my tutor and going to adult ed. It gives me a chance to improve myself and my life by offering an education. So far this year I have learned how to use a calculator and the math that you use with it, how to say my months in order, and to read out loud more fluently.

Thank you for the tutor/student picnic today. My student, Erica, her daughter, Stephanie and I had a very nice time, and the food was very good, also. I hope having a picnic like this can be an annual event. Besides having great food, I learned a lot of new things that will help me in my tutoring program.

The story about Frank C. Laubach was one of my favorites because it is about a true story. This man started a program called "Each One Teach One" in Lanao Province in the Phillipines more than 70 years ago. Thanks to him, many people like me have been beneficiaries of this program called the "St. Joseph County Literacy Council". Thanks to the inspiration of Frank C Laubach.
