Council President Ron Hooker Addresses Three Rivers Early Head Start

The Three Rivers Early Head Start program held an outdoor gathering at Broadway Park outside the city.  St. Joseph County Literacy Council President Ron Hooker was there to speak to parents of children enrolled in the program.  The emphasis was on "Reading Begins at Home" and the need for parents to encourage children to begin reading at an early age.  Food was served (hot dogs and chips with drinks and ice cream) and the chidren had a great time.  We were pleased to have one of the parents attending join in our program as a new student.
